When the buyer from France first contacted us, he did not start by asking about price, MOQ, or lead time.
Instead, he talked about hesitation.
They had used cardboard displays before.
They had also experimented with PVC material displays.
Both options had served their purpose in the past, especially for seasonal promotions and entry-level products. But this time was different. The brand was preparing to introduce a premium fragrance line, positioned above their existing range, and the old display solutions no longer felt right.
In his words, "The product feels expensive. The display does not."
That sentence set the tone for the entire project.
When Existing Displays Start to Limit Brand Positioning
The brand planned to place the new perfumes in shopping malls, chain cosmetic stores, and professional beauty salons across several European cities. These were not pop-up counters or short-term promotions. The displays needed to stay in store for months, sometimes years.
Cardboard displays looked temporary.
PVC displays were more durable, but visually flat.
In brighter stores they blended into the background. In darker corners, they disappeared completely.
At that point, the buyer realized the issue was no longer about cost control. It was about consistency. If the product was positioned as premium, every physical touchpoint had to support that message - including the perfume display stand.
Why Acrylic Became the Turning Point
During the discussion, the buyer also shared an internal concern that rarely appears in specifications: store managers disliked displays that felt "temporary." Even if the product sold well, cardboard and PVC units were often removed early or replaced by something more solid. This feedback pushed the team to rethink the display not as a promotion tool, but as part of the store's long-term fixture, which strongly influenced the final material and structure choices.
During our early discussions, we compared different materials openly. MDF, metal, mixed structures, and full acrylic solutions were all considered.
For this project, acrylic stood out for one reason: balance.
Acrylic provided the clean appearance the brand wanted, while still allowing enough structural strength for daily retail use. It also allowed us to integrate lighting in a subtle way, something that was difficult to achieve with cardboard or PVC.
The final structure was confirmed as a full acrylic perfume display stand, with specific thickness choices to avoid a lightweight feel.
Material Details That Make a Real Difference
The base riser was produced using 30mm thick frosted acrylic. This was not just for stability. The weight and texture immediately changed how the display felt when placed on the counter.
Customers often rest their hands on the base while testing fragrances. A solid base quietly communicates quality.
The remaining structure used 5mm thick white acrylic, selected for its neutral tone and light reflection. White acrylic helps highlight the bottle design and branding without competing visually.

Compared with PVC material displays the client had used before, this structure felt calmer, cleaner, and more permanent.
Compact Size, Carefully Considered
The final dimensions were set at W620 × D210 × H240 mm.
These measurements came from real store feedback, not factory preference. The buyer shared photos of existing counters, tester trays, and cashier areas. We adjusted the depth several times to make sure the display would not interfere with daily operations.

This size works well for both perfume display stand applications and fragrance oil display stand layouts, especially where space is limited but visibility still matters.
Lighting That Supports, Not Overpowers
Lighting was one of the most discussed points during development.
The buyer specifically asked to avoid harsh lighting or visible LED dots. He wanted the products to stand out naturally, even in low-light conditions, without making the display look technical.
We integrated a soft white LED strip along the edge of the back panel. The light spreads evenly across the products, creating depth without glare.
The system uses a 12V 3A adapter with CE certification, suitable for European retail environments and easy for store staff to manage.
In practice, this lighting helps the fragrance oil display stand perform consistently throughout the day, from morning to evening.

Replaceable Graphics for Future Collections
One concern the buyer raised early was long-term usability.
Luxury fragrance brands rarely rely on a single product launch. New scents, limited editions, and seasonal updates are part of the business.
To avoid replacing the entire display, we designed replaceable graphic panels on both the backboard and base surface. Graphics can be swapped without tools, allowing the same perfume display stand to support multiple product launches.
This feature was especially important for cost planning across multiple stores.
Packaging and Shipping: Planning Ahead
International projects often face problems after production is finished, not during design.
To reduce shipping risks, the display was designed so the back box and base could be separated and connected by screws. This allowed for compact packaging and better protection during transport.
Smaller cartons also meant lower freight costs and fewer damaged units on arrival - a point the buyer appreciated after previous experiences with bulky PVC displays.

Feedback After Store Installation
Once installed, the buyer shared feedback from retail staff. Customers spent more time at the counter. They tested the fragrances instead of walking past.
Nothing dramatic.
Just noticeable improvement.
In physical retail, these small changes often lead to measurable results over time.
Beyond Acrylic: Other Options for Different Brands
While acrylic was the right choice for this project, we also manufacture:
* MDF cosmetic display stands
* Metal perfume display stands
* Mixed-material displays combining acrylic, metal, and MDF
Different brands require different solutions. Some prioritize cost efficiency. Others focus on durability or visual impact.

With more than 20 years of production experience, we approach each perfume display stand and fragrance oil display stand project based on real usage, not templates.
A Practical View from the Manufacturer
A display is rarely the main product, but it strongly influences how the product is perceived.
For this French client, upgrading from cardboard and PVC displays was not about luxury for its own sake. It was about making sure the physical presentation matched the fragrance inside the bottle.
And in retail, that alignment is often what customers notice first - even if they never say it out loud.
